G. B. Shah Commerce College, founded by Late Shri Rasikbhai G. Shah sir and managed by Ahmedabad Kelavani Trust, is a grant-in-aid co-education college imparting higher education for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com. Honours) programme in Gujarati as well as English medium and Master of Commerce (M. Com.) programme in English medium. Established on 15 th June, 1964, the college is affiliated with the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and has been recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

Originally, the college was named as Ahmedabad Commerce College and situated at Gheekanta in the walled city of Ahmedabad. The college was renamed as G. B. Shah Commerce College and was shifted to the present (Vasna) campus in a phased manner from 1981. Since then the college has been functioning at the present address. Located in the prime area the vicinity caters to the academic needs of students from not only Ahmedabad city but also of neighbouring rural areas. With a rich legacy of past Principals, Dr. V. K. Joshi (Associate Professor & Head, Department of English) heads the esteemed institute presently as Principal in-charge.
